Our hand blended traditional Moroccan Merguez seasoning is mildly spiced & richly aromatic! Use as a general spice blend for burgers, stews, tagines, meatballs & couscous or get creative with your own recipe! Merguez spice blend tastes great with ground beef or a combination of ground beef & lamb. Use approx. 50% Lamb with 50% Beef although this ratio is not written in stone! you could use 70% Lamb to 30% Beef or just 100% Lamb if you prefer.
Moroccan lamb burgers use approx. 40-45g for 1.5 lbs of ground lamb. In a large bowl, gently mix lamb, Merguez spice blend, one egg & one tablespoon plain yogurt until thoroughly mixed. Shape the meat mixture into 4 patties about 1/2 inch thick. Lightly brush the burgers with olive oil. Grill or pan-fry the burgers to your desired level, 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium-rare. Serve on a toasted burger bun or inside a pita topped with caramelized onions & enjoy!
