Our Balti curry powder is a deliciously spicy but not too hot, blend of herbs & spices full of the flavours of India. Usually cooked with chicken, beef, pork or lamb, it also works well with vegetables. Sprinkle some Balti spice on chicken thighs & pop in the oven wrapped in foil or, on homemade potato wedges for a spicy twist.
Try mixing it with yogurt to make a spicy marinade for meat and fish.
Chop 2 cloves of fresh garlic, 2 medium onions, 1 tin chopped tomatoes & 1 green pepper. Heat 3 tbsp oil and fry off the onions, garlic, for a few mins then add 2-3 tsp of Mr. Bell’s Balti spice & fry for a few minutes but don’t allow it to burn as the spices will take on a bitter flavour. Then add chopped tomatoes & approx 700g of beef, chicken lamb or Vegetables.
You could also add cream or yoghurt if you like a creamy curry and simmer over moderate heat until the meat is cooked through..
Serve garnished with fresh coriander leaves, alongside basmati rice & naan bread.
