Did you know that Garam masala loosely translates to “warm spice”? The word Garam means “heat” but this doesn’t mean that the spices in our blend are hot, but that they have a warming, heating effect on the body when eaten & the word Masala means “spice”!
Why not make your own curried beans? Simply fry off some finely chopped onion, add garam masala to your taste, pour in a tin of baked beans & add a few sultanas. Simmer over a low heat until cooked, use to top a jacket potato or serve as part of a main meal.
To make Kashmiri Garam Masala: Simply add to 1 Tbsp of Garam Masala, 1 tsp of ground cumin & 1/2 a tsp each of nigella seeds & ground nutmeg.
